When Sarah Riley—D.C.-based ceramics artist and friend—needed to create a brand identity for an upcoming pop-up market, I wanted to help her create a visual identity that represented her creative practice. From Sarah's website, her work "aims to maintain elements of the process and the potential of the fresh clay in the final product." The majority of Sarah's work begins on the wheel, so I wanted to incorporate that process into the visual identity, which became the organic circular motif. The paper bags and hand-stamped logo are accessible and reflect the handmade wares they contain, while still maintaining a sophisticated simplicity.
