Posters (4), 12"x72"; Hand-Bound Books; Vinyl Lettering Installation; Postcard Takeaway, 4"x6"
For my senior thesis project, I researched gender identity, and how women are represented in different contexts—visually, verbally, and otherwise.
PROJECT

The four posters are based on the four female archetypes as outlined by Toni Wolff, a student of Carl Jung. The posters represent the Mother, Amazon, Lover, and Medial / Wise Woman. In the hand-stitched book, I outlined my research, including personal writing, imagery, and a brief explanation of the contents of each poster.
With these banners, I wanted to subvert the visual language of femininity; rather than having glitter, sequins, and glamour indicating empty vanity, I wanted to use these beautiful elements to empower different attributes of women, embracing these attributes rather than pushing them aside as secondary and inherently negative.
